CSAG and adjacent standards

CSAG complements scientific knowledge and provenance standards. Interoperability gives the field-level mappings.

Standard What CSAG adds or maps
RO-Crate (Research Object Crate) and Research Objects Packaging for files, metadata, and provenance. CSAG supplies the argument graph inside the package.
PROV (the W3C provenance model) and PAV (Provenance, Authoring and Versioning) Activities, responsible actors, creation, and derivation. CSAG uses these patterns for extraction provenance.
Open Research Knowledge Graph (ORKG) and its reborn articles Structured research findings. CSAG adds explicit contexts, evidence polarity, and inference steps around findings.
Nanopublications and micropublications Compact assertion packaging. CSAG keeps evidence items, evidence links, critiques, gaps, and manuscript grounding together in one artifact.
SWAN (Semantic Web Applications in Neuromedicine) and AIF (Argument Interchange Format) Discourse and argumentation models. CSAG narrows the idea to scientific manuscript extraction with typed evidence and biological context.
CiTO (Citation Typing Ontology) Citation intent. CSAG can include citation evidence, while its core evidence links connect manuscript-local evidence to assertions.
ECO (Evidence and Conclusion Ontology) Evidence term vocabulary. CSAG evidence items can map to ECO where the manuscript supports that specificity.
SemMedDB (Semantic MEDLINE Database), BioPAX (Biological Pathway Exchange), PyBEL (a Python library for the Biological Expression Language), and the Biolink Model Biomedical relations and entities. CSAG can normalize assertions into these ecosystems while keeping the text-grounded reasoning that produced them.
